Control Interface Module for Arecibo (CIMA)
This site contains a lot of detailed information on the user interface used
for observations with the Arecibo radiotelescope.
Free software
at Arecibo - some potentially useful programs.
SIGPROC
- A good and very easy-to-use general pulsar package. Created and
maintained by Duncan
Lorimer, at Arecibo the executables are in: /home/pulsar/bin/ and /home/pulsar/bin/linux.
PSRCHIVE
- The object Oriented Pulsar Software.
Another excellent pulsar package, worth having for some specialized
applications (pulsar timing!). At Arecibo, there is an updated version
running on the general file system (in /home/pulsar/bin/) and in ASP.
Created and maintained mostly by the Swinburne Pulsar Group
PRESTO
- An excellent pulsar package, a bit more difficult to install
(because of its heavy use of python) but worth having for
some specialized applications (pulsar searching!). Created and
maintained by Scott
Ransom. At Arecibo, the executables are in
/home/pulsar/presto/bin/.
TEMPO
- The reference timing package - see /home/pulsar/tempo11/tempo.
massf2
- A program that estimates companion masses
and relativistic orbital parameters from a given pulsar mass, orbital
inclination and orbital parameters. Also makes mass-mass
diagrams and predicts GR parameters. Written by Paulo Freire, its present
path is: /home/pfreire/bin/massf2.
NE2001
- Convert pulsar DMs to distances and vice-versa.
All the files in /share/wappsrc/utility/. foldfft transforms WAPP
folded lags data to folded spectral data, alfasplit separates the two
beams in ALFA WAPP data, asciidump allows you to look at the full
header of a WAPP file.
time_ao.dat - Latest clock correction
files for the Arecibo Observatory.
ut1.dat -
Earth rotation files (should include the latest IAU
bulletin B).
