The
First Arecibo Mark 5 Fringe
On September 5,
2004, a one-baseline VLBI run between
Arecibo and Onsala resulted in the first Arecibo Mark-5 fringe. The
recorded data were FTP-ed to the Joint Institute for Very Long Baseline
Interferometry in Europe (JIVE), the Netherlands, on September 6 and
correlated to produce Arecibo's first Mark-5 fringes.
